About Lodi Garage Door
Lodi Garage Door is part of Windsor America, a fast growing platform of home services brands. In Phoenix, Lodi has been in business for roughly 45 years and holds the largest share of the new build market in the state. Lodi also covers the Denver and Las Vegas markets.
Over the past few months, President Sam Sciotto and the team rebuilt their phone operation around Avoca, deploying Responder and Speed to Lead. Rather than one shared bot, Lodi runs a separate AI agent in each market so promotions, pricing, and seasonality stay local.
The Before: one person carrying the load
For a company where the phone is the whole game, Lodi was leaving money on the table every time it rang unanswered. Nights, weekends, and daytime overflow all fell to whoever was available, and often that was one person carrying the entire load. Service manager Sarah Trumpe handled the calls, the emails, and the after hours coverage.
- "Before Avoca AI, it was all me. I took the calls, answered the emails, whatever. I can actually have a weekend now. I can rely on it. It's a big difference." — Sarah Trumpe, Service Manager
Not a traditional home service company
The most challenging part of the rollout proved to be the various components of Lodi’s business. Because Lodi installs new construction doors and warranties them for a year, the agent had to understand that a homeowner who calls in is often still under warranty from the close of escrow date, even months after moving in.
Now Avery reads the ServiceTitan ticket in real time and adjusts, treating a six month old install as a warranty and a decade old door with a broken spring as paid service.
-"When a homeowner calls in and gets Avery, our bot, and they've been in their house for six months, they know they have a warranty. Avery literally looks at that service ticket and sees when we installed that door, and if they're in the warranty period, she responds that way. Completely different response than somebody that has a broken spring and bought their door ten years ago." — Sam Sciotto, President
The After: a bot for every market
Lodi runs a distinct agent per market. Because of the variance in climate, promotions are different as well. Marketing stays local too, with the agent trained to recognize the exact campaign a caller is responding to. In turn, the customer who saw the promo on social media gets the same messaging from the Avoca agent.
Every high margin call, answered
The payoff shows up in volume the team never used to capture. In Phoenix, Avery handled about over a thousand calls in 90 days, work that used to disappear into voicemail. The agent also absorbs the repetitive calls the team least enjoys, which takes pressure off CSRs and lets the branch wait for the right hire instead of grabbing the first resume. Because the agent is trained once and never forgets, standardizing across markets no longer means rebuilding the call center each time.
“We had our best service month in December. We followed that with our best replacement month in probably the company's history in January. Our closing rates are up to 70%. It's had a huge impact on the bottom line. ”
— Sam Sciotto, President, Lodi Garage Door
