A few weeks ago, Herrmann Services experienced something every service company dreads: we unexpectedly lost both power and internet at our office.

Normally, an outage like that could bring an office to a standstill. We couldn't use our phones or access the systems we rely on to run our day-to-day operation. Meanwhile, our customers were still calling and still needed service.

That's where Avoca's AI Assistant made a huge difference.

While our office was completely down, the AI Assistant continued answering our incoming calls, speaking with customers, gathering their information and actually booking service calls for us.

Our customers weren't just reaching an answering service and leaving a message for someone to call them back later. They were able to call Herrmann Services, explain what they needed, and get an appointment scheduled—even though our office had no power or internet.

By the time we were back online, we didn't come back to a pile of missed calls and lost opportunities. Avoca had continued handling our calls and putting jobs on our schedule while we couldn't.

That experience completely changed the way we looked at having an AI Assistant. We originally saw it as another tool to support our customer service team and provide additional coverage. We quickly realized it also gives us something incredibly valuable: business continuity.

In the home service industry, the phone ringing is our business. Customers don't stop having heating, cooling, plumbing, or electrical problems because our office loses power or internet.

That day, our building may have been down, but Herrmann Services wasn't.

The power went out. The internet went down. Avoca kept answering our phones—and kept booking calls.
